About Brandon Levering

BL picI serve as the Lead Pastor of Stonebridge Church (EFCA) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Before coming to Iowa in 2019, I served as Lead Pastor of Westgate Church in Weston, Massachusetts.

Two of my love languages are barbecue and eschatological hope. This blog is about the latter (though I will accept recommendations regarding the former).

Hey, Brandon. On the former in your profile. Have you tried Fireflies in Natick yet? Not the absolute best bbq in metrowest but worth a try and is close to home. Anytime you want to meet us there, we’re game. Is there something about coming from the midwest that makes you predisposed to love bbq?

BTW, if you’re up for a drive, you need to go to Blue Ribbon BBQ in West Newton.

Brandon, I wanted to tell you what a delight it has been to have the group from your church here with us in Tuscaloosa. They are doing a great job and have been great to interact with. Thank your people for sending them to help in the rebuilding of our city. It is great to partner for the progress of the gospel and the kingdom.

Thank you, Steve! So glad to hear it. And thank you so much for hosting them–it’s enough work to serve your community with the rebuilding efforts; it’s even more to find a way for others join in. But what a sweet privilege to partner this way. We’ve been praying for them and for you and your ministry in Tuscaloosa, and are eager to hear of what the Lord will do to advance his gospel in and through his people.

      All grace,
      Brandon

I ended up here Via the Gospel coalition cross post about established churches thinking like a church plant. I am pastoring a small ABC church nearby that’s basically a replant, it was helpful. One good deed deserves another. Check out Smokin Joes. http://smokenjoesbbqboston.com/. One of my friends who’s from Memphis swears by the place.

Thanks for the recommendation, Jonathan! And glad the post was helpful. We’re not too far; would be happy to connect sometime and hear more about your ministry. Blessings, Brandon

    Brandon,
Somehow I missed your reply this fall. I would love to meet up, talk about life, ministry, and all that God is doing. Medfield is a short ride from you. Also, are you going over to the Barnabas ministries gift day? Have you connected with Dick and the Barnabas people.

Nice blog. It’s always a happy event to learn of someone else preaching the Gospel in New England. Maybe some brainstorms in the future . . .

Hey Brandon I really enjoyed your article on homosexuality and the Gospel. Wow, it has been a long time since I have talked with you! So happy to see that things are well for you and Carissa and the family. Great memories of our times with you. Love from Nebraska, Judy
